Core (BnR)

The Novaspect Backup & Recovery solution enables users to easily back up and recover their critical files, databases, and system images while providing disaster recovery and data protection solutions. Utilizing the latest vendor supported software delivers a best-in-class solution for DeltaV systems, AMS Suite, and other DCS, SCADA or PLC environments. It includes the following main types of components:

AGENT FOR WINDOWS
Enables disk-level and file-level data protection in a Windows environment.

DEDUPLICATION
Deduplication is the process of minimizing storage usage by eliminating data repetition and storing identical data only once. Deduplication is performed on disk blocks for disk-level backups (block-level deduplication) and on files for file-level backups (file-level deduplication). Data is backed up to a vault managed by the Storage Node and then deduplicated.

MANAGEMENT SERVER
Backup & Recovery Management Server is the central server that drives data protection within the enterprise network. The management server components include:

  • Storage Node - A Storage Node is a server designed to optimize various resources that contribute to protecting enterprise data by organizing and managing the locations that serve as dedicated storage of the backup archives (vaults). Optimized resources include but are not limited to: corporate storage capacity, network bandwidth, and the managed machine’s CPU load.
  • Components for Remote Installation - Acronis component installation packages used by the management console for installation on remote machines.
LICENSE SERVER
The License Server manages licenses of the Backup and Recovery products and installs the components that require licenses. Novaspect’s Core Backup and Recovery includes:
 
  • Design and installation of an onsite Backup and Recovery server.
  • Scheduled automatic backups of critical system files.
  • Scheduled automatic image backups of critical servers and workstations.
  • Yearly testing of critical system files and system images to ensure backups are in a healthy state for recovery.

Advanced (BnR with replica server)

All Core BnR features, plus:
 
  • Provide twice yearly testing of critical system files and system images to ensure backups are in a healthy state for recovery.
  • Configure a “Off-site” backup and recovery server*
*Server should be placed a substantial distance from the location of the primary server (customer is responsible for providing network connectivity between locations). An “off-site” server stores a copy of all backups from the on-site server and is recommended for redundancy in the event of a disaster.

Premium (BnR with Cloud Replica)

All Core and Advanced BnR features, plus:
 
  • Automatic replication of backups to an offsite server maintained by Novaspect Servers and workstations can be recovered from any Novaspect office and sent to site in the event of machine failure.
