Mark started his career at Muscatine Power and Water in 1990 as a performance engineer where we was resposible for plant performance spanning from optimizing process control to improving equipment efficiency . Later he went on to become a Maintenance Engineer with resposiblity for the Mechanical and Electrical maintenance of the plant. Mark joined Fisher Controls in 1996 as an Applications Engineer in the Power Industry group where he was resposible for providing commercial and technical support to the global sales teams. In 1998 he went on to the newly formed Emerson Asset Optimization (AO) group where he focused on process control optimizaiton across all industries. Later as a Maintenance & Reliability Consultant in the AO group, he performed implementation of Reliability Based Maintenance programs, leveraging the power of smart instruments, valves and software, at several Emerson customer sites. In 2007, Mark returned to the Fisher Flow Controls Group as the Power Industry Manager and later the Director, Power/OEM Industries where he was resposible for sales and technical support for the Power and OEM industries worldwide. Mark’s true passions are anything deeply technical, so in 2019 he was appointed to the role of Control Valve Solution Architect, where he can focus exclusively on solving the most challenging control problems, mentoring the next generation of applications engineers and developing an applications engineering training program to develop the next generation of highly trained application engineering experts to serve Emerson’s customers. Mark holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of North Dakota.
